Fact of the Day: Do you care that the first NCAA tournament, hosted in 1939, had only eight teams. Oregon went on to defeat Ohio State. It expanded from 16 teams in 1951, 32 in 1975, 64 in 1985, and 68 in 2011. It would be Brent Musburger in the early 1980’s who would coin the term March Madness during a television broadcast on CBS.
